I Ain' t Happy

I heard the guilty verdict on Jason Van Dyke today for the murder of Laquan McDonald. Reporters were asking people if they were "Happy" with the verdict. I would answer such a question as "relieved", but I could not say it made me happy. After all, a young teenage man is dead, tragically taken from his family. I am relieved that the color-conscious justice that often victimizes our black young men did not prevail and that true blind justice did. I also heard a deceptive statement from Van Dyke's lawyer calling "him" a sacrificial lamb. However, a sacrificial lamb is innocent who dies for the guilty. Van Dyke is not innocent. He has been sacrificed for no one!!! He has done the killing, combined judge, jury & execution style. His lawyer is trying to make a martyr out of him. Regardless of the verdict I cannot be happy. It is my only hope that justice continues to prevail. I am relieved, but I ain't happy
