I Must Confess

I'm trying to be fair when I say that I'm genuinely listening to why people continue to support Trump and I'm finding it is a matter of perspective. Most people who applaud him, support him, defend him do so because they have never seen the world from the perspective of a person like myself. The reality is that they have lived a very sheltered and narrow life, never venturing outside of their own box and hence, cannot broaden or the see the world as others see it. Their arrogance or comfort; depending on how you look at it will not allow them to see it any other way. To them Trump is a savior, a godsend, a man who is going to turn the country around and take us back to the good ole days, and his dessenters are persecuting him; they don't know what's good for their version what the country!!! I recall a scene in the movie, "In the Heat of the Night" when a racist bigot slapped Sidney Poitier only to be slapped back. The man was stunned and asked the sheriff what was he going to do about it? Then sadly looked and said "There was a time when I could have had you shot" Thank God that time is gone, Unfortunately there is still a handful that don't know it. How dare men knell during the national anthem? The audacity of Black folks marching and protesting, chanting "Black Lives Matter" but white supremacist can March with torches and yell "Jews will not replace us" Of course brown and black countries are $--holes, but we welcome white countries like Norway. This is the perspective if a narrow-minded, sheltered, privileged, all-for-me-and-mine group that although small in number is still 30% of the country. I listened to the speech of a white woman on FB who posted how much she loves Trump and glad that he's not afraid to use such profane language. "It's true!" she stated "These folks need to stay in their $---hole countries. Many of the WEC (White Evangelical Christians) are supporters and continue to forgive his short-comings, but not one would stand up for the racist evil treatment that Obama,a man who married his college sweetheart; a perfect example of a family man, no mistresses, no scandals, no tainted past, and yet the WEC siding with the taunts of the Republicans, and calling him the anti-Christ, among others. Is that what serving Jesus is all about, only liking those who look like you? Let me say this. I love Jesus and I serve Him!!! I understand that you are a narrow-minded, self-centered person, hiding behind your religion and politics because it gives you comfort. The God whom I spoke with this morning and every morning has commanded me to forgive you, and I have and will continue to do so. I am trying to understand you. But I will not hesitate to tell you your perspective is wrong, conceded, that you do not exhibit the love of Christ and therefore hypocritical in calling yourself a Christian. Don't look down on those in what you call $---holes... you might wind up in one yourself. Thank you for your time
