"Vanity of Vanities, saith the preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity" (Ecclesiastes 1:2) These words coming from King Solomon; the wise and one of the richest men that ever lived. and yet out of all of his wealth, fame & fortune he felt incomplete. What good is it? Sometimes we feel life is about getting, gaing, & winning. But the thrill only last so long. However, notice the words of Apostle Paul cventuries later whenhe said "But Godliness with contentment is great gain" (I Timothy 6:6) This spoken by a man that didn't have anywhere near the wealth of King Solomon, was almost impoverish and often persecuted and imprisoned. And yet, because he walked with Christ he was content (Read Philipians 4:11) While we are following after the "prosperity gospel" we are losing the spirituality and relationship with Christ that makes us satisfied with Him alone. "...the joy of the Lord is our strength" (Nehemiah 8:10)
