Why I cannot Support Trump for President

I'm looking at posts and talks from some of the white conservative Christians who are supporting Trump and even prophosied his victory, admonishing us why we should support him. I see a number of things. First: perspective. None of them have been victims or seen firsthand what racism does and therefore have no idea what many of us feel. Second: many of them have been recipients of white privilege, even in ministry. I recall a conversation I had with a white friend of mine ( and he was a friend) when I was in the Marine Corp a number of years ago. "My father was born Germany during world war II. When he came to America he couldn't even speak the language. Today he owns his own business blah, blah blah..." He bragged to me. I replied. "My father was born and raised in this country and did not nearly have the opportunity that your father had. And a few years ago, because of his German descent he would have been considered an "enemy" I'll tell you another story my father told me. He had just been discharged from the U S Air Force, applied for a job he was well qualified for at Midway Airlines in 1956 only to be blatantly told, "we're not going to put any Negroes in the tower!" These type of things for many generations, and even stories of my own give me an entirely different perspective of qualities in a presidential candidate and potential Supreme Court justices. Further, the way Obama was disrespected and fought only ignited the anger and resentment in many of us that have been the victim of race discrimination down through years. The ridicule of "Black Lives Matter" the gunning down of black men by police, the rhetoric of Donald Trump makes it impossible to support a man like that, nor does it question or compromise my Christian faith. YES I'm voting. But it won't be for Trump!!!
